Familiar faces

Familiar faces

Old friends and new at Dunedin Railway Station.

It's great to be out and about and offering regular tours again. I enjoy meeting new people and introducing them to Dunedin. It's also a delight to re-connect with former customers/ friends.

When I started this business, back in 2006, I did not expect to have many repeat customers. I figured that a guided walk operation was not like a favourite cafe, which loyal customers might return to again and again. People would tour the city once, and if they really liked the experience they might recommend it to others.

But I'm pleased to report that the truth is more nuanced. Having been in business for a number of years now, I've had the privilege of welcoming several return visitors. This trend has been more noticeable lately, with borders closed to internationals, and an increase in domestic travellers. It has been really heartwarming to re-connect with some of these folks these last few weeks.

I've always made adjustments to my tours, to ensure that they remain topical and interesting - for customers and myself. And cities change: neighbourhoods evolve, trends come and go. What doesn't change is the warm welcome that guests receive here. Again, it has been heartening to learn how much people seem to appreciate that.

Thank you for your support. I hope we meet again!
