Slow tourism
Few would argue that ‘nature’ (or ‘accessible nature’) and ‘heritage’ are Dunedin’s unique selling points. I’ve been banging on about these two strengths for years. However, comments made by a recent walk customer regarding Dunedin’s tasty hospitality/ food & beverage scene (read on for examples) made me think.
The speaker noted that ‘nature’, ‘heritage’ and ‘food’ are all strengths here, and observed that Dunedin’s real draw is in fact ‘slow tourism’, which encompasses all these things. I think they’re right.
