Updated Covid-19 policy

17th November 2021
City Walks guide Athol Parks has received both his COVID-19 vaccinations.

Now that over 90% of New Zealanders have had their first COVID-19 vaccination, and 80% are double-dosed - and other Kiwis have had ample opportunity to be vaccinated - City Walks tours will resume, with caution.

Walkers are strongly encouraged to wear facemasks throughout each tour. They MUST wear facemasks if indoors, and we must everywhere try to maintain some distance (at least one metre) from those outside our walk bubble. Your guide is fully vaccinated. He will wear a facemask throughout the tour and will carry extra masks and some hand sanitizer for your use.

Only fully vaccinated people (aged 12 and over) are welcome on the walks just now. We'll be checking 'My Vaccine Passes' when NZ's new COVID-19 Protection Framework (the 'traffic lights system') comes into force. We've adopted this policy for the sake of loved ones and to protect vulnerable members of the community. While respecting choice, we urge all eligible persons to get vaccinated.

We can't visit First Church on our tours just now, as it's not open to visitors (Sunday services continue). We'll also bypass some indoor spaces we sometimes visited on our walks.

This update supersedes aspects of our previous COVID-19 update.
